Sport for Development and Peace.

We use the power of sport to drive positive change. From football to netball, our programs promote life skills, leadership, and teamwork while addressing critical social issues like education, health, and gender equality.

Sport for Development and Peace.

At Jangwen Foundation, we believe sport is more than a game it is a powerful tool for peacebuilding, advocacy, and youth empowerment. Through football and netball, our Sport for Development (S4D) and Peace Programme brings together children and young people from diverse communities, creating safe spaces for learning, leadership, and social cohesion.

Every sporting activity is integrated with pre-match and post-match Peace Dialogues, where participants discuss peaceful coexistence, conflict resolution, responsible civic participation, leadership, gender equality, and respect for diversity. These conversations empower young people to address disagreements peacefully within their schools, families, and communities.

Sport for Development and Peace.

Our sports field is also a learning platform, combining sports with SRHR education, life-skills training, safeguarding, mentorship, and substance abuse prevention. Participants gain the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions, stay healthy, remain in school, and become responsible community leaders.

By engaging coaches, parents, teachers, and local leaders, we strengthen community ownership and use sport to inspire positive behavior, build resilience, and nurture a generation of young peace ambassadors.

Empowering Rural Girls through Sports!

At Jangwen Foundation, we use football and netball to challenge harmful gender norms that limit girls’ participation in sport, education, and leadership. We create safe and inclusive spaces where girls build confidence, break stereotypes, and realize their full potential.

Our sessions combine sports drills with life-skills training, mentorship, and age-appropriate Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education. Girls learn about leadership, teamwork, menstrual health, gender equality, decision-making, and the importance of staying in school.

Our sports field is more than a playground it’s a learning platform. Every training session empowers girls with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed choices, advocate for themselves, and become positive role models in their schools and communities.
